Web designer

This is an exciting new opportunity within the Product Design team at Populis. As part of a growing dynamic team the Web Designer is responsible for all elements of the site and applications that the user can see. This includes designing a look and feel that creates an emotional connection with the user that's in line with the product brand guide-lines. In addition this role is responsible for building technical structure and visual design, as well interactive elements within the site.

Responsibilities

The candidate is required to have all the expertise needed to manage the development of a new product starting from the idea (mockup), creating all the graphic element, developing the html/css code and including the javascript code component.

The responsibilities of the role are:

Create engaging, usable, and effective visual design solutions.
Generate multiple concepts that fulfill project requirements.
Create product ready graphic elements for web application.
Design and optimize banner ads, landing pages, and site graphics elements.
Approach all projects with a focus on communication hierarchy using layout, color, typography, proportion, iconography, photography, motion / rich media and brand.
Create visual design guidelines to maintain a consistent user experience.
Create high-performance, reusable, and well-tested front-end markup.
Create valid XHTML and CSS.
Create cross browser framework issues with UI JavaScript and CSS.
Measure and optimize the performance of solutions (as page speed, image download performance and more).
Developing reusable markup framework standards.

Technical skills

Proven experience of CSS and (X) HTML 5.0 development
Proven experience of Javascript & JQuery Development
Proven experience with Adobe suite cs5 (photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver)
